Developmental disability
“Developmental disability” defines “symptoms usually found at their low ages including autism, Asperger’s syndrome, other pervasive developmental disorders, learning disorders, attention deficit hyperactivity disorders, other similar brain dysfunction disorders” according to Developmental Disabilities Support Act. According to the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, students of elementary and junior high school regular classes with developmental disability characteristics account for 6.5% according to a survey result. The supports for developmental disorders require creating support systems for people with medical diagnosis, as well as a universal support environment for people with special requirements, throughout their life stages without interruption.
